An apple a day...

Our class studied one of the greatest things about Autumn... APPLES. We discussed all the different ways apples can be used to make delicious treats. The children came up with the following list:

  • apple pie
  • apple sauce
  • apple cake
  • apple juice
  • fried apples
  • caramel apples
  • apple cider
We tasted yellow, green, and red apples to decided which color was our favorite. After the children decided which was their favorite, we made a class graph. For the first year ever, the winning color was red. We read the following books during our apple study: The Apple Pie Tree, A Day At The Apple Orchard, Johnny Appleseed, and Picking Apples and Pumpkins.
After reading, The Apple Pie Tree, we created this life cycle of an apple tree using tissue paper.
